Supernatural star Jensen Ackles Opens Own Texas Brewery, Family Business Beer Co.

Supernatural star Jensen Ackles is trying out a new venture outside of acting by opening up his own craft brewery. Its name is something the Winchesters would be proud of; Family Business Beer Co.

Ackles is co-owning this brewery alongside his wife Danneel, duo Debby and Ed Graul as well as Gino Graul. Gino will manage the running of the brewery with Nate Seale serving as its head brewer.

The premise is simple and it’s to bring people together for alcohol, good music and delicious food – clearly a place that Dean Winchester would love to visit. It is located in Jensen’s homeland, Texas and has now opened up as of Wednesday 10th.

“The idea to start a small brewery began about 5 years about when my brother-in-law Gino and I thought we were making some pretty good backyard brews and wanted to take it to the next level.”

“Little did we know that our casual chat about starting a brewery would lead us to where we are today as Family Business Beer Co. Needless to stay, we are very excited,” Ackles explained.

Jensen went on further to say that the name turned out to be one of the most important features during its construction.

“The name was a simple placeholder (since we are a family) until we could come up with something catchy, but we realized that the name made sense on a few different levels — one being a nod to Supernatural as one of the early slogans for the show was ‘Saving people. Hunting things. The family business.’ — so we shrugged our shoulders and said, ‘Guess we have a name!’” he explained.

The brewery includes an outdoor play area, a selection of local beers and wines alongside non-alcoholic choices. So it sounds like a really relaxing, comforting place to be!

The food will be a homage to Jep’s Southern Roots, the new food truck from Duck Dynasty stars Jep and Jessica Robertson, which will be the place to get some classic Southern and Cajun food.
