Lil Wayne Takes Former Agents To Court
NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Rapped Lil Wayne has taken his former agent to court over allegations that they withheld proceeds from his 2009 tour.
According to AllHipHop, Wayne is alleging that Erskine Isaac and David Nelson, the owners of Ujaama Talent Agency diverted more than $375,000 from two stops of the America's Most Wanted touring music festival.
The complaint alleges that the defendants "elected to divert to Ujaama's own bank account an amount not less than $375,000, the sum that Isaac and Nelson maintain is owed to Ujaama for the tours in question".
Wayne's attorneys claim that they sought to obtain the money from Ujaama several times before resorting to legal recourse. According to the complaint, Wayne had been repped by Ujaama since the start of his career and had worked with the agency on four different tours between 2008-2010.
The 27-year-old Wayne, AKA Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., is currently serving a stint in New York's Rikers Island Prison behind weapons charges.
Representatives from Ujaama had not responded to a request for comments at the time of publication. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
