ST. PAUL, MN (CelebrityAccess) — A federal court in Minnesota has awarded a judgment against rapper Uzi Vert after he failed to show up, both for a concert and for court.

According to court documents first reported on by The Blast, a judge ordered Lil Uzi Vert and other defendants to pay $30,000 for breach of contract related to a concert no-show in 2017.

As well, the judge ordered that Multi Talent Agency, Inc. and Stephen Ferguson pay $9,920.00 in damages for attorneys’ fees related to the case.

The suit stems from March 2017 when Lil Uzi Vert, whose real name is Symere Woods, was booked to perform at Clayton’s Beach Bar in South Padre Island, Texas.

According to the complaint, Lil Uzi Vert accepted a $30,000 deposit for the show but pulled the plug one day before the concert was scheduled to take place.

Per the complaint, Lil Uzi backed out of the show after the concert promoter, identified as VelleBe LLC, declined to provide a private jet for Lil Uzi, noting that it was not stipulated in the contract.

While the judge sided with VelleBe in the breach of contract dispute, he ruled against the promoter over claims of civil theft, noting that while the “money was improperly retained, the initial transfer was neither wrongful nor surreptitious.”
