DISCOVER: INNA & Vinka Team Up For New Single & Music Video "Bebe"
Bringing the world together, Romanian star INNA and Uganda singer Vinka, have decided to team-up on the brand new single “Bebe”. The track has both French and English lyrics with one catchy beat. It follows up INNA’s feature on Yellow Claw’s single “Baila Conmigo” alongside Saweetie and Jenn Morel, as well as her sixth studio album YO; and follows up Vinka’s single “By The Way”.
INNA, real name is Elena Apostoleanu, is one of the biggest Romanian female artists around at the moment, having gone on to have international success with her early singles such as “Hot”, “Amazing”, and “Sun Is Up”. She continued her success with a variety of singles that have hit over 100 million views on YouTube including “Ruleta“, “Gimme Gimme“, and “Heaven“. She has collaborated with some of the biggest artists and DJs including Flo Rida, Pitbull, J Balvin, Daddy Yankee, Martin Solveig, Sak Noel, and Dannic, to name a few. She recently released her sixth studio album, YO, which saw her take creative control, unlocking her songwriting abilities. This marked her first full Spanish album. It spawned five singles, “RA”, “Iguana”, “Sin Ti”, “Tu Manera”, and “Te Vas“. We also managed to speak to INNA in an exclusive interview about the album, in which she revealed that there were more collaborations to come – and here is another one, following the Yellow Claw collab. She also recently released her own magazine, titled INNAMag.
As for Vinka, whose real name is Veronica Luggya, she is a Ugandan singer-songwriter who went viral with her first single release “Stylo” due to the lyrics containing sexual innuendos. Prior to her singing career, she managed well-known Ugandan singer Irene Ntale. Her biggest hit to date is “Chips Na Ketchup” which has over 2 million views on YouTube and over 100 thousand streams on Spotify. She recently signed with Sony Music Africa, which is part of Sony Music Entertainment. It looks like this new collaboration with INNA is going to become her biggest hit, and we’re excited to see where her career takes her next.
This addicting new song has been written by Elena Alexandra Apostoleanu, Marcel Botezan, Sebastian Barac, Theea Miculescu, and Veronica Luggya, whilst it was produced by production duo Marco & Seba, who are Marcel Botezan and Sebastian Barac. As for the music video, Bogdan Paun directed it, whilst Alexandru Muresan acted as director of photography, as part of NGM Creative, and it was produced by Radu Lupu for Loops Production. The song is gaining traction, unsurprisingly, and has already reached a million views in just a few days. We hope it keeps building in the coming weeks as we sure can’t stop listening to it.
INNA said of the song and music video in a press release: “I composed ‘Bebe’ in a spontaneous studio session, the melody was ready immediately, same with the chorus and the whole concept, it all came together very well and then I continued to work on the song with Vinka, Theea and Marco & Seba. I love the result, Vinka fits perfectly into the song’s vibe. Enjoy!”

The title translates into English as “Baby”, with the chorus doubled – the first-half in French and the second half repeated but in English, whereas the verses are completely in French. As far as we can tell by our very rough translation of the lyrics, the song is about being with someone who you are in love and not caring what others are saying about that person. It’s a cute song and even though we only know the English lyrics, we feel the passion and the strength of the song. Both artists impress, not only in the French and English language but also their vocal ability and emotional capability. It’s just one brilliant song that is determined to get stuck in one’s head all day long. The backing track is groovy and catchy – it gives a lot of room for DJs to remix, so we are hoping for a remix EP to be dropped in the near future.
The accompanying music video is set within a subway. It opens in a restricted area where a subway train drives past and enters a tunnel, which leads to the visual showcasing the inside of the carriage, where INNA and Vinka start their verses. They are both fashionably on-point, with INNA wearing a Gucci nylon hood with a recurring motif of the Pre-Fall 2019 collection (the GG star print in a reinterpretation of a monogram, with a rhombi-inspired pattern alternated with stars) over a black bra, matching Gucci loose joggers that have green and red web tape down the sides with white piping and ending in black and white elastic detail. She pairs this matching combination with a Gucci belt and a dripping crystal choker which matches her earrings and headpiece. As for Vinka, she’s also styled in Gucci as her sunglasses state loud and proud. She’s also wearing a long-length red jacket with loose crinkled sleeves that she’s pushed up past her elbows, black shorts, and black boots. She has accessorised the outfit with a chained necklace and hoop earrings.
Both artists bring it for the visual, showing their confidence and energy. They move up and down the carriage, enjoying every minute of the music video. Towards the end, the set changes to the corridors of the subway with INNA loving the use of the travelators. There’s also product proposal from Coca-Cola Zero Sugar (or Coca-Cola Zero Zahar as it is known in Romania) which isn’t a surprise since INNA has teamed up with Coca-Cola Zero Zahar in the past, for advertisements and music promotions. It’s a fun-filled music video, iconic, and one of INNA’s most unforgettable music videos to date.
“Bebe” is now available to download and stream, via Global Records. We expect more music is on its way from these two incredible artists.
